Will this cause me financial problems if we proceed with divorce? 2 Answers as of May 17, 2011

My common law wife found out I was having an affair. She left and won't come back until I put the details into a written document for her. Can this cause me some more financial or legal issues

If your affair wasted community assets it can be held against you and if the affair shows you are are an irresponsible parent it can hurt you there plus what is she going to do with the information? Blackmail you?

Your question is difficult to answer. Washington State does not have common law marriage, although the State does recognize "committed intimate relationships," which is similar. I am not sure what "you want" (i.e., reconciliation or a "split")?
