Will the petitioner of a K-1 Fiancee visa also be interviewed? 2 Answers as of April 07, 2011

I am presently in the US and my fiancee is in Mexico. I have reservations about going to Juarez for an interview. My fiancee is comfortable with it. Do they interview both people or just the beneficiary that will be coming to the US?

They usually interview only the beneficiary. However, they might have a few question as well for the American spouse. It is wise for the US spouse to be there with you.

The K-1 petition does not need to go to the interview and we recommend that they do not. The consulate will make a decision based on the document filed and their interview of the K1 applicant.
