Will my friend be deported because of prostitution charges? 2 Answers as of March 16, 2011

A friend of mine was arrested for prostitution early this week and she is married to a US citizen for 2 years now and been a green card holder since 2004. Will she be most likely to be deported if she is convicted?

P.S. She had a felony conviction last year and thought she was going to be deported but the ICE officer told her she was fine because her charge was fraud and it was less than $10,000.

Your friend needs to speak to an immigration attorney right away. While she may not have been deportable because of the prior conviction, when combined it another conviction she would likely be deportable. She needs to seek advice regarding the consequences of any new conviction before pleading to anything.
