Will medicaid affect my file for citizenship? 2 Answers as of June 07, 2011

My husband is a citizen and he is been out of work for 1 year. I enroll my kids on medicaid because I can affort my health insurance. Can this affect when I'm ready to file for my citizenship?

No I do not see that as an issue. Especially if the beneficiaries of the enrollment were your children. As long as your husband is making enough according to the USCI Poverty Guidelines for a family of your size, I have no issues telling you you will be fine. Good luck!

Generally speaking, if you do not file for any Federal benefits, you will not have any issues with your citizenship.
