I purchased a house with my boyfriend back in 2006, then we refinanced a year later, but my now husband took my name off the deed before we married. I live in the house in NC with my son, and he lives in Ma. If we divorce, will I receive half the equity even though he took my name off the deed prior to our marriage? I maintain the property, and pay the phone bill as well as I paid the electric bill for the first four years I have lived here, as well as the other household bills. I don't pay the mortgage, taxes, or insurance. Also, will I get half his retirement as well? We were together for over 8 years prior to marriage.
