Will a drug charge prevent me from purchasing firearms? 4 Answers as of April 08, 2013

I had a charge for possession of marijuana less than a ounce. Will this affect me in a fire arm purchase? Its been three years since I had the charge and I paid cash for a private transfer but its being held at a gun broker and got delayed.

Unless it was a felony you should be fine. Only felony or a domestic violence charge will prevent it.

Well I would ask the broker what the holdup is about. A reputable gun dealer should be able to answer this question, since they have to know the law to sell the guns.
