When will my husband be able to come to the US? 2 Answers as of June 23, 2011

I have filed the paperwork for my husband who is a Jamaican citizen, and just received my 1-797C Notice of action today. The form indicates initial review is in place. I am curious what the best case scenario is for him to be allowed to come to the US. I was hoping by the Christmas holiday?

You need to go to the USDOS' Visa bulletin in order to see what priority dates the National Visa Center is processing now. That will give you an idea as to when your husband might come. X-mas this year is a bit too optimistic but you never know. Good luck!

It depends on what exactly you filed. But once approved will forward to the national visa center to proceed with the interview at the U.S. consulate. It could take 4, or 6+ months.
