What will happen if I cash my social security check? 2 Answers as of October 31, 2013

I was currently accepted for SSI. However, they didn't accept me until I surpassed my work credits so if I cash the check they sent me, does that void my opportunity in disputing the claim?

I suggest checking with the local Social Security office.

It does not, you will get an over payment notice for SSI. At that point, you may wish to seek counsel to discuss your options.
