What will happen after getting a driving without license and speeding ticket charges? 6 Answers as of October 17, 2014

My fiancé was driving my car because I have an injury and we got pulled over. My fiancé got a ticket for driving without a license because we forgot it at home and a five mile over speeding ticket. This is her first offense. We are both really worried about what's going to happen.

These are only civil infractions, which at worst require the payment of a small fine and possibly a few points on her driving record. Really not something to be worried about.

Take the license with you to court and they might dismiss that charge.

You would be better off with a lawyer but she will not go to jail or anything.

Plead not guilty and retain an attorney. The DWLS is a serious charge. The attorney can advocate for her working to have the DWLS dismissed or reduced. Generally, five miles over is not ticketed, but it can be. Hopefully, nobody got an attitude with the officer.
