What is the statute of limitations for past due rent? 1 Answers as of May 13, 2011

The date was October 9th, 2003 for the cost of 1804.50. Can they now sue me for past due rent? From what I read the statute of limitations was 6 years. Is that correct, and if so how do I contact the small claims court and what do I say?

It depends on what state you live in...In Connecticut where I practice, a written lease has a 6 year statute and an oral one has a 3 year statute. However, if you made a payment the statute is tolled and restarts from the date of the payment.
