What should my bankruptcy timeline be? 3 Answers as of September 16, 2010

I need to file for bankruptcy. I am a single mom and a full time student. I have student loans and my monthly expenses are way more than the money coming in. It has been like this for about 3 and a half years and I am sick of the creditors. I would like to get my tax refund back before I file so that I can keep it. If I file now, in September, would I still get my refund back? Or should I wait until tax season?

That depends on the amount of the refund and what exemptions you have available under applicable laws. You need to consult with a bankruptcy attorney to go over all the relevant facts.
