What should I do regarding my automotive sale? Posted on February 27, 2011
In September, 2010, I was in the process of selling a vehicle to a coworker. The terms were that he paid the payment and covered it with insurance. He was not to take the car on any long trips until it was paid off. However, he failed to make payments, took it from Wyoming to Viginia and back on vacation, and sold parts off of it for his own benefit. It was too much of a liability so informed him I was repossessing it, which is when he told me he had blew out the transmission, put a large dent in the trunk lid, and it is sitting dead on the side of the road. I need legal advice for what I should do in this situation. There was no formal documentation of the sale. What should I do?
