What should I do if I was in an accident with an uninsured driver? 1 Answers as of July 28, 2010

I was in an accident with an uninsured driver and it was his fault. He lied and said he was insured but I called his insurance agency and they said that he had been dropped. I’m afraid that I won’t be able to collect any money. What should I do?

If you have uninsured motorist coverage, you may be able to recover under your own policy. Your insurance carrier may chose to pursue the uninsured driver. You may also be able to report the uninsured motorist to the BMV/DMV which can result in a suspended license, at least in Ohio this is the case. If you have additional questions, schedule a consultation with a local attorney.
