I have a 17 year old child who seems to think she is grown. She threatens me she will move out with friends all the time. What should I do? I'm at my wits end. Please help.

In Alabama, a child becomes an adult on his or her 19th birthday. Until then, the child is subject to the parent's authority, unless an emancipation has occurred. Juvenile Courts have a procedure called CHINS (child in need of supervision). This may be a little more than you need, but a call to your local district attorney's youth services division may assist you.
