What happens to personal contact info when terminating employment? Posted on March 01, 2011

My wife left her employer today because she took a new job in another industry. Before she left, took and emailed her contact lists to her personal email. Her boss called and asked if she had taken them. She said she did and drove them back and deleted the email. Her former employer then called and said we are getting outside counsel and not to delete the file on her email. Should we be worried even though she returned/deleted everything on the final day of employment... And that her new company does not compete in anyway with her prior employer?
