What happens if my son was charged for grand theft as a minor? 2 Answers as of August 12, 2011

My son is 15 years old he got charged for grand theft for the first time in Florida. What should I do? The cop come and arrest him in house to day and went to pick him up later he was very cooperative and said all the truth never lied.

I would strongly suggest that you consult with an attorney if you can afford one. In juvenile court they will provide a public defender but they are overworked and underpaid and he will not get to talk to the lawyer until right before Court most times. With a private attorney you should have some idea of what is going to happen when you go into court. My guess is that they will put him on some type of probation if this was his first offense.
