Generally, once an injured victim has signed a release and officially "settled" their personal injury claims, they are prohibited from pursuing any further claims regardless of the condition of those injuries. This is especially true if the victim was represented by counsel; however, if the victim receives nominal consideration for the settlement and is not represented, the claim may be re-opened in certain circumstances.
