What do I need as an asylee to travel to Candada and the United States? 3 Answers as of August 03, 2011

I am an asylee from Ethiopia and have a Green Card through political asylum. I do not have a national passport. I do not have a travel document. Am I allowed to travel to Canada via land and return to the United States with only my Green Card and Drivers License? Or am I required to have a Travel Document as well as a Visa to visit Canada?
