What can we do if our ceiling fell in and we have a foundation leak? Posted on February 01, 2011

We have had issues with water in a bedroom causing spots on the ceiling. It was cut out and replaced on more than one occasion. Recently it became saturated again and was cut last week with new ceiling put in and within a week the spot moved further and today the ceiling has since fallen in. Obviously they are not properly repairing the problem as it has continued, and now we have a huge whole with no idea when the work will be done. We have also had a foundation leak that has caused saturated carpet in the basement. The bathroom baseboard was removed to show sitting water behind the walls, and this issue has been ongoing for several month. What are our rights as tenants and can we seek any type of compensation due to these deplorable living standards. Also, I believe water issues are resulting in mold that has caused recent health problems in our household.
