What can I do if I was disapproved on my loan modification? 3 Answers as of August 15, 2013

I have tried to get approved for a loan modification since 2008, when my husband lost his job. He is now working and we have separated. I received a letter from the servicing company last week that said I didn't qualify for the modification because of the npv, no specific reason. What can I do now because I really want to keep my home and I can afford to pay just not with the 10% interest rate and the arrears are up to $40,000.

They must give you the npv inputs and appeal instructions. There are hud approved free counseling agency's to help. Check with the lender for traditional modifications as well.
