What can I do if a company broke our verbal contract? Posted on August 04, 2011

I agreed to a verbal contract with an advertising company, to pay for advertisements once they went live on the internet site. During the recording of the contract I stated once more, that I do not want the advertisements to go live until I could afford the pay the agreed amount. The recording process was started over, to keep my interruption out. I never approved the ads to go live, and 5 months later I get a bill from a collections agency saying I am being charged $1200 for the service. I never received any billing statements, or contract by mail. Is the verbal contract valid in Oklahoma even though it exceeds the $500 limit I read about for verbal contracts? Thank you!
