This sounds like a very serious matter and I would speak with an experienced medical malpractice attorney as soon as possible. Until you do, I would avoid speaking with the hospital's risk administrator. Please feel to contact me directly if you wish to discuss this matter.

You should contact an attorney. Based on these facts, it appears that the nurse committed negligence, and you (or your daughter) has a right to be compensated. I feel very bad for your situation. Please let me know if I can help.
