What are my legal rights to a website URL registered in my name? Posted on July 11, 2011

I own and have been paying for a website URL that is being used by a business that I thought I owned part of. The business start-up has done extremely well, but I was informed of the end of the relationship a couple of years ago. I have been paying the annual fee for the URL name until now. Is it unreasonable for me to ask a price that exceeds my cost? Can it be considered a fraud or blackmail to ask for an annual fee to continue using the URL? I know that the business heavily relies on their website. I live in FL and the business is in AZ.
