What are her rights in an Underage Prostituition case? Posted on July 12, 2011

On 4/20/11 my daughter was brought home by the police and they claimed she tried to commit prostituition. They told us we would receive a court date shortly. She was briefly questioned by them without our consent when they knew she was underage but no fingerprints or anything were taken. She is seventeen years old and comes from a middle class background. That night she attempted suicide and was hospitalized for a month and a half where she she was clinically found to have depression, bipolar disorder and an eating disorder. She may have had sexual abuse in the past. We just received a letter this week, a complaint was filed against her and that we have to meet with a juvenile counselor this week and that are remarks are inadmissable. What are our rights and what should we do?
