What are the consequences if friend was charged with eavesdropping? 1 Answers as of May 23, 2016

One of the people I know has been charged with eavesdropping in the company he works for. He clicked several photos and videos of people in various states of dress in his company gym. He has accepted in written that the photos/videos have not been shared to anyone, have not been uploaded anywhere and that he had no intention to abuse them or make money out of them or blackmail anyone. He has also submitted the phone by which he clicked the images/videos. He did jail time and was bond-out in approximately 12 hours. What are the possible scenario he has to face once he goes to trial? Please note that he is a non-US citizen and is in USA solely for work (non-Immigrant resident).

Any sentence greater than 12 months will result in his work visa not being renewed. As for not posting the pictures anywhere that makes no sense. Why take them, IF not to post them.
