Waht should I do after first-time shoplifting in Colorado? 2 Answers as of May 25, 2011

I was recently caught for shoplifting for the first time in Colorado. The value was around $280. Other then a few minor traffic tickets I have a clean record. I have a pretty good job and two kids and I'm afraid I'll go to jail What are the chances I'll get jail time?

Not very likely you'll do straight jail time for such an offense, but it can depend what county or city you are in. Even if 'jail' time is imposed, it likely can be done as work release or home detention.

You have a small chance of getting jail. You will likely get a plea bargain. If you speak with an attorney early in your case, you will have much better chances. V
