There is no time limit as to when you can receive property following a discharge; but the Trustee can recapture property that could have been included in your bankruptcy Estate if it is transferred to you within 2 years. In your example this car was not a part of your Estate and was not purchased by you, so it could be argued that it should be beyond the Trustee's reach. That said, the timing will appear suspicious. Consult a competent bankruptcy Attorney to discuss your options before making any decisions.
