To press criminal charges , you report the crime to the appropriate law enforcement agency. You should report it to one of the officer's superiors, or contact the SC Law Enforcement division. If you google SC Law Enforcement Division, you should be able to find their website with their contact information. It is difficult to get authorities to press criminal charges for police brutality because the case often comes down to your word vs the officer's word. You almost need the event on video tape to succeed. If you wish to sue civilly, contact an attorney who practices civil trial law, especially civil rights law, or better yet one who advertises for police brutality cases.
