Is the will that was drawn before they divorced still valid? 2 Answers as of April 13, 2015

My friend’s ex just died in February 2015. They divorced in 2004. Neither of them remarried. The only will is one they drew up together after their first born. They had two children who are adults over 20. My friend and her ex still celebrated some holidays together. He was sick for some time.

There are more details needed here; however, in Texas if he never revoked his last will & testament in writing by writing another will after their divorce, the will he wrote while married to your friend is still valid. Please advise your friend to consult with a local attorney who is familiar with estate planning.
