If I plea down to a DWAI from a DWI and the Judge accepts this, is there a way to request a Deferred sentencing to postpone the inevitable License suspension in a DWI case?

You should hire an attorney to talk to the prosecutor and the judge about this before you plead to anything.

You can adjourn the sentencing but eventually it will happen.

Your attorney can request a twenty day stay (postponement) of the suspension. If granted then your suspension will start twenty days after sentencing. If you enroll in the Department of Motor Vehicles Drinking Drivers Program within those twenty days, you can then apply for a conditional license.

You cannot delay the revocation, but if you did not refuse the breath test you are eligible for a full 20 day license until you get into drinking and driving school where you will get a conditional license unless your license was suspended for some other reason.
