It would be a crime if it involved your downloading, uploading or distributing kiddie porn.

Well, I have more questions than answers for you. How do you know you are being investigated by the feds? What is the nature of the teen modeling site? What is your age and background? Do you subscribe to any other such sites? Why are you subscribing to the website? Is there any reason you would be precluded from subscribing to any such website? If you are right and the feds are watching you, why? Do they have a warrant of some type, or other authorization to be monitoring your activities? There are many other questions. Law enforcement usually doesn't just pick random people to investigate - they usually have a reason.... If you are really concerned you should consult with a good criminal defense attorney.

That would depend on what is on the web site. If the site has teens dressed in little to no clothing and in sexually explicit poses are probably going to cause you some problems as opposed to teens displaying formal wear.

Depends on the age. In California, seventeen is illegal. 18 is not.

Whether a subscription to a teen modeling site is legal or not is dependent on the content of the site. If there is nudity or pornographic content then you would have to know that all the models are over eighteen years old. The first step in this is a disclaimer on the sight that all the models are over eighteen. However, even with this disclaimer the site may still be using under age models. The test for this is a reasonable man test. If a reasonable person could determine with the information you had that a model was under eighteen years old, then you could be charged. This site could be a sting by the FBI and if so they would know the ages of all the models. Depending of the facts this could be hard for the feds to prove.

It certainly is if they are truly teens, that is underage, and they depict sexual acts.
