No it is not. Once you are a green card holder, it is very hard for it to be taken away unless there is reason to believe that it should not have been granted in the first place, like fraud. An individual, like your stepmother, does not have the power to grant or take away a green card or any immigration benefit. So don't fret. Just make sure you have at least 5 years of having that green card and that you are at least 18 years old to go and file for citizenship. I am serious! If you have the pre-requisites, go for citizenship. Good luck!
