Is it normal to have an arrest warrant issued in Texas 8 years after the incident? Posted on February 10, 2011

I was issued a ticket in Texas for speeding, went to court to dispute it, they ordered that I would have to pay it and they would send me notice of how much, this was 8 years ago. I now live in IN, and my ex calls and tells me he got a letter from the county where I got the ticket and they have issued a warrant for my arrest and I have to pay $333. In the past 8 years, I have had my license renewed, been in two accidents, and never had any mention of an arrest warrant! Do I have to pay a fine or get arrested? Can they do that?
