Is it legal to use someone elses information to immigrate? 2 Answers as of April 11, 2011

Is this considered document fraud? I know of someone who used her sisters birth certificate and not her own to immigrate to the United States. She is not who she says she is. She lives by another name other than her own. All her family members know this they all know her by her real name and not her dead sister name that she used to become naturalized here. Her sister was three years older than her. This can not be legal??

No, it is not legal and, yes, would appear to involve document fraud as well as other illegalities.

No, it's not legal. You are correct, it is document fraud. That is a type of immigration fraud. She could have her naturalization voided for this offense.
