Is it legal for landlord to put a shared electric meter between residents? Posted on July 25, 2011I'm renting a single family home but it has a mother in law apartment that's also be renting out to a lady and her son. We only have one electric meter which the landlord says I have to pay mine and her electric and it doesnt have its own entrance built. Also, it has another door that leads to my kitchen that only has a little lock on it. Is this legal?
