Is it legal for a company not to give you a raise? 1 Answers as of February 21, 2012

Is it legal for a company not to give you a raise? I have been employed with this company for 4 years.l I only got a raise after my 90 days were in, an haven't gotten one since. When I ask my boss about a raise he said that he is paying a lot for medical insurance for his employees. Is that legal to never get a raise?

Yes it is legal to never give an employee a raise in Michigan. Unless a union is involved, or a written employment contract states otherwise, all employees in the state of Michigan are "at will" employees which means they can be hired and fired without cause at the sole discretion of their employer.
