Is it lawful for my commission sales to be given to another employee? Posted on July 26, 2011

I'd like to know if it is legal in New Jersey to take a commission one salesperson earned and give it to another salesperson who was not involved in the sale. Is there any circumstance in which an employer can remove your name from a sale and refuse to pay commission you earned? I have contacted my State Dept of Labor and they were not helpful in directing me to find out if this was lawful.
