Is it illegal to prevent overtime pay and why? 2 Answers as of September 15, 2015

I am a salary employee. I work 50+ hours a week. I am required to live on location. I'm not charged rent and they pay the bills (Electric and Propane). I know about the FLSA, and make less then $455 a week. When I ask about overtime pay, I've been told that because they pay the bills I don't get overtime pay. Is that legal?

You have not asked a simple question. I do not know the answer. I suggest you contact Wage and Hour Division (WHD) - U.S. Department of Labor http://www.wagehour.dol.gov/ They have investigators that handle such questions.
