Is it best to turn myself in if there is a bench warrant for my arrest? Posted on June 23, 2011

I have a bench warrant for Failure to Appear on a misdemeanor violation of a protective order. They have been to several locations in an effort to serve this warrant. I am currently living 4 hours away or would've already addressed this issue. Wondering what my options are regarding the matter? To my understanding the warrant can't be quashed. Is it best to turn myself in? If so, is it best to go to the court in an attempt to see the judge (possibly avoid jail time)? Not sure that this is relevant but I don't believe myself to be guilty on the charge.
