Is buying a tax deed on my deceased grandmothers house legal? Posted on February 27, 2011

I am living in my deceased grandmother’s house, which she left to my mother in her will. However, my mom didn't have the money to pay for probate court and didn't have money to pay for the yearly taxes on the house. So the house is still in my grandmother’s name. I started renovating the house after my grandma died and then started living in it. Then when my mom couldn't pay the taxes, I bought the taxes at the tax deed sale. I am supposed to send out a 5 month litigation letter but to whom? My deceased grandmother? My mom? Or do I just send the letter to my house? Or do I need to send a letter at all? And is what I'm doing legal?
