If my wife received a call from a detective claiming he was looking for me, we don’t do anything wrong, how can we check if it is not a scam? 1 Answers as of March 15, 2017

I got a call early today and I thought it was spam/telemarketer or a debt collector. Apparently it may have been the police department training unit who make calls to follow up on reports filed, missing cars, etc. None of that applies to me. Then a Detective called and asked me to please call him back, stating it was "nothing urgent but he didn't want to escalate the matter and go to my family." And that's the entire message stated. I am not sure what to do. My wife of course is freaked out. She feels something might have happened to someone. But I am just confused. I feel it’s a scam.
