If a juvenile breaks into someone's home what would be the expected punishment? 1 Answers as of April 11, 2016

My 16 year old little brother and some of his friends broke into someone's house and took some stuff. He turned in the stuff he took to the detective. This is his first time he's gotten into trouble, what would his expected punishment be?

He turned in the stolen property to the detectives? Really? Did he go straight from the burglary scene to the detective's office? Oh wait, you mean the detective did an investigation and caught his ass, then when he was confronted, he confessed and turned over the property. He is looking at probation, but with a clueless sibling like you, he will shortly be in far more trouble.
