If I write something on my blog does that mean it has been published? 2 Answers as of October 18, 2010

I am a daily blogger and my blog is available to the public. I want my writing professionally published, but some publishers do not want previously published content. Do my blogs count as published or unpublished?

It depends on what context the term "publication" is used. For example, your blog would be considered "published" for purposes of filing an application for Copyright registration. However, it does not sound as if you are published as in one of the dictionary definitions, in which it means "circulated in print media." One reason publishers may not want previously published works is because the ownership of the Copyright is unclear.
