If I move out of the State of California prior to my evidentiary hearing, do I need to retain a California attorney? 8 Answers as of December 14, 2012

We had our child custody and move-away motion addressed today. He does not want me to move away with the kids and will retain them until our evidentiary hearing. I have decided I want an attorney for this but wasn't sure if I needed a CA attorney or an attorney in my new state of residence.
