If I file my girlfriends immigration paperwork before I move, will she have a better chance of staying in the US? Posted on July 20, 2011

I am a CA resident who recently secured a job in AZ. I will be moving to AZ next month. I've been with my girlfriend for a while and would love nothing more than to marry her and take her with me. Problem: she's here illegally, and I fear that she may be subject to stricter immigration rules in AZ. If I were to marry here and start the immigration paperwork regarding her immigration status, will the USCIS provide me with documentation stating that the paperwork is pending? Will receipt of pending paperwork be sufficient for law enforcement to not deport her?
