How long does it typically take to get spousal support when filing for divorce? 1 Answers as of July 19, 2011

How long after filing for divorce does it typically take to receive spousal support? I am filing irreconciable differences, can my husband contest the divorce and the spousal support? What if he quits his job in order not to have to pay? There are no children of this divorce. He owns a home bought during our marriage but I am not on the deed or the mortgage. It is in pre foreclosure.

I would go to court for a temporary support order, and ask the Judge to order him to start making payment to you now. He can not quit his job and just 'get away with it'.
