How long do I have to sue for payment on a car if I have a written contract? Posted on April 15, 2011

I sold a car to my ex and (stupidly) did not put a lien for payment on it. We entered into a written and notarized agreement stating she would have me $1,500.00 and in the agreement it stated payment had not been made. She has sold vehicle to a dealer for credit on a new car and stated she would claim in court she gave me cash. How long do I have to pursue small claims for this seeing as how I have a written contract?
