How do I file taxes without official forms? 1 Answers as of November 02, 2010

I work as a nanny and get paid cash. I have kept records of my payments, and I want to pay my taxes, but I am wondering how to file my taxes when I have not filled out any official tax forms for this job. Also, on the off chance that I get audited, would my employers word be enough to prove that I got paid the amount I said I did?

Whether a person gets paid in cash or via a check, they still have a responsibility to file a tax return. If you only get paid cash, you still need to report the cash payments as "earned income." If you are operating your own business, you may need to file a Schedule C or a Schedule C-EZ. A local accountant, CPA or tax attorney can assist you with these documents.
