How can we protect ourselves when releasing our product? Posted on July 08, 2011

In the making a tabletop game, my group has come to the point where we need to decide if we want to release the game. The game includes at this point many brand name firearms (Glock, Berreta, ect.). What sort of actions should we be taking to make sure this isn't copyright or trademark infringement? We want to keep the game realistic and making up new names for things just doesn't seem as legit as recognizable models. The game might include the model name, AK-47 for example, and a likeness of the weapon. Using brand names is preferable but unnecessary. Any thoughts?
