How can I prevent my ex from fleeing the country with my unborn child? 4 Answers as of February 13, 2012
My ex is pregnant and I think it is my child. She has kept this secret from me since we separated. She has a green card, but does not have citizenship. She is in her third trimester now. How can I prevent her from fleeing to her home country so I am able to verify paternity?Free Case Evaluation by a Local Lawyer!

You need to file a Petition to Establish Parental Relationship: http://courts.ca.gov/documents/fl200.pdf You need to get this filed as soon as you can as it will prevent the mother from taking off with the child. I would suggest you contact an attorney in your area for assistance as I would never advise doing a child custody matter without the assistance of an attorney.

Get an attorney today and file a Petition to Establish Parental Relationship and an Order that she not remove the baby from the county until paternity is determined. The real truth is that she can just walk over the border and it is done, regardless of any order and then she could disappear.
